Hi, I'm Kara!
After working in nonprofits for over six years and receiving my BA in Professional & Public Writing and Women’s & Gender Studies, I'm passionate about using my skills and experience in communications strategy, digital marketing, and professional writing to drive positive social change.
This journey has led me to work for top nonprofit organizations and small businesses, including Michigan State University's Centers for Community Engaged Learning and Gender in Global Context (GenCen), Senior Neighbors, Lansing Rent is Too Damn High, the Michigan Library Association, and more. Some of my favorite projects have included writing and editing MSU's 2023-24 Community Engaged Learning Index, designing a Comms Strategy & Plan to direct internal and external communications for Lansing Rent is Too Damn High, and writing seven contributing articles for The Current—East Lansing, Michigan's only full-color arts-and-culture magazine.
